Updates!

I finally managed to update the curriculum links on the left as well as the curriculum page here on the site!  After a long weekend where I don't feel like I accomplished much, this feels a lot like progress!

In the words of a famous (pseudo-)homemaker, "It's a good thing."

We're doing Saxon math 2, first language lessons and still waiting for Writing with ease to arrive.

We're doing this wkends and this summer. My son is 10 and severely autistic. I did some Cdn curriculum small workbooks to see where he was at during the school year and he understands the basics, reads/spells at grade level so we're pushing expressive language skills. They are coming... but very slow. Not complaining though.......

I find school jumps all over the place... his class is good, but not perfect so I'm trying to fill in some of the gaps.

Have you been using La Clase Divertida for a while (sorry, can't recall)? I'm looking to make a change w/ Spanish and am wondering what you think of it.

We started using La Clase Divertida level 1 last year and we have enjoyed it. When you read the TM, it will tell you that you need to be really intense with it - watch the movies a ton, listen to the CDs, etc. - but we don't. I felt like there was enough review in the DVDs, workbooks, etc., that we didn't need such overkill. The projects are fun, and the supplemental segments (history, cooking, craft projects) are fun for the kids. I especially like that they teach how to write the language as well as speak and read it. My visual daughter hadn't learned how to write or read the language at all and is picking it up very quickly!

Thanks, Sarah! I think we'll give it a go.
